Carlton Medder embraces Florida quarterback Tim Tebow as they celebrate their BCS Championship victory in 2007
The BC Lions Football Club announced today that import offensive linemen Dane Randolph and Carlton Medder along with Bart Archdekin have agreed to contracts with the team. All three will participate part in rookie camp slated to begin in Kamloops on Wednesday, June 2nd before the entire squad hits the field at Hillside Stadium on Sunday, June 6th.
Randolph played in 41 career games at Maryland (’04-’08), including 24 starts, all at right tackle. As a senior in 2008, he played in all 13 games, starting seven at right tackle and was one of eight Terps to earn Academic All-ACC honours. He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Green Bay Packers in 2009 and spent the season on the Packers’ injured reserve list.
Medder emerged as a staple at the guard position on a Florida offensive line that not only produced the SEC’s No. 1 and the nation’s third-ranked scoring offense in 2007, but also did not give up a sack over seven consecutive games that championship season. He started all 27 games during his junior and senior campaigns including the BCS Championship game in 2007 and appeared in a total of 40 games during his career with the Gators.
Archdekin took over as Minot State’s starting centre in his freshman year and remained in that role for four seasons, appearing in 35 games for the Beavers. He was named to the First Team All-DAC in each of his three final seasons.
