He’s a force on the field for the BC Lions but receiver Emmanuel Arceneaux is stepping off the gridiron and into an entirely different arena up against some elite CrossFit athletes this weekend as he takes part in the Okanagan Valley Throwdown in Penticton, BC at the South Okanagan Events Centre (853 Eckhardt Ave, Penticton).

Competing in the team event with fellow members from Langley’s Hybrid Athletics (team name: Primal Performance),Arceneaux will take on weightlifting, gymnastics and high intensity interval training along with many other sport specific movements and challenges. The Okanagan Valley Throwdown is one of Western Canada’s premier CrossFit competitions so the field will be strong.

“I’m still in learning mode when it comes to CrossFit, but I love the competition and I’m inspired by the skill and determination of these amazing athletes,” said the 2015 CFL All-Star. “It’s as intense as any professional sport and it’s going to be a lot fun.”

We’re really hoping he brings this awesome hard hat with him!
