Lions ink international running back duo

BC Lions Football Club GM and head coach Wally Buono announced today that international running backs Mikel Leshoure and Sam Ojuri have signed with the team.

mikel leshoure action square Leshoure was a second round NFL Draft selection of the Detroit Lions in 2011 following three productive years at the University of Illinois. An effective runner and pass-catcher, the Illinois native posted 807 rushing yards and nine touchdowns along with another 214 yards on 34 receptions for Detroit over two seasons and 17 appearances.
Sam Ojuri action square Ojuri, who also hails from Illinois was acquired through the CFL’s Negotiation List Draft in December and will try to crack the Lions’ roster following a notable college career at North Dakota State where he piled-up more than 3,500 rushing yards and 33 majors over 44 games.
