Lions haul in free agent DB Brandon Stewart

GM and head coach Wally Buono announced free agent defensive back Brandon Stewart has agreed to terms to a two-year contract with the Lions.

“Brandon is a very talented defensive back who brings a lot of experience to our secondary,” said Buono. “His size, his physical style of play and his ability to make big plays will make our defence better.”

Stewart, a nine-year veteran, spent the past two seasons with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats preceded by five years with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and a pair of campaigns with the Calgary Stampeders. Over nine seasons and 108 games, the Seattle, Washington native has notched 240 defensive stops and 12 interceptions.
