Lions ink three on defence

The BC Lions Football Club has announced the signing of linebacker Dyshawn Davis along with international defensive backs Kevin Cooper and Davarus Shores this morning.

Davis spent 2015 training camp with the Washington Redskins where he signed as an undrafted free agent and appeared in three preseason games last year. The New Jersey native was a four-year starter at Syracuse and saw action in 49 career games tallying 157 individual tackles, 37 of which were for a loss.

cooper actionCooper dressed in 44 games over five seasons at Humboldt State and hauled in 10 career interceptions including an 80-yard pick-six, along with 71 defensive tackles and 19 pass knockdowns.

Shores comes to the CFL fresh out of school following a notableshores three-year stay at Texas A&M-Commerce. The athletic defensive back appeared in 35 games for the collegiate version of the Lions notching 35 tackles and an incredible seven blocked kicks.

All three will make their way to BC next week for the club’s two-day mini camp on April 28 and 29.
