Arceneaux Takes Home Weekly CFL Honours

(Vancouver) Following his dynamic performance in Edmonton on Friday night, Manny Arceneaux has earned CFL Player of the Week honours.

The speedy slotback had the best performance by a Lions receiver this season, hauling in seven catches for 164 yards, including a pair of first half touchdown receptions in the 27-23 loss to the Eskimos. Given the outcome of the game, Arceneaux was reserved in his comments about the lofty numbers.

“I honestly don’t even remember that part,” Arceneaux says of his heroics. “There was too many negative plays and we never got back on track. My personal accomplishments are pretty much irrelevant at this point. I don’t want to speak out about individual success. It wasn’t about what Edmonton did, it’s about what the BC Lions didn’t do.”

In addition to his season-high performance on Friday, “The Manny Show” also leads all Leos receivers with 956 yards in 2016.

The Lions are currently second place in the West Division with an 8-4 record. Arceneaux and his teammates return to the practice field today and will host the Ottawa REDBLACKS on Saturday night at 7:00PM, presented by Tim Hortons and featuring the University of Washington Husky Marching Band.
