Friday is Purolator Tackle Hunger Night At BC Place!

Vancouver, BC- It will be a playoff-type environment when your BC Lions battle the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Friday night. This week also marks Purolator Tackle Hunger Night at BC Place and you can help spread the word and contribute to this very worthy cause!

The services that our local food banks provide are vital to thousands of people in the communities in which we live and work. With a team effort, we can play a tremendous role in supporting those who need our help.

The Lions’ Purolator Tackle Hunger game is the second to last Purolator Tackle Hunger game of the 2016 CFL regular season, and we want to show teams and fans across Canada the tremendous support our great fans give to our community.

Sande Buono, Kim Lulay, Jasmine Lumbala and many of our players’ & coaches’ wives and girlfriends have graciously volunteered to help collect donations on Terry Fox Plaza, and we are very thankful for their support. They will be working alongside our Purolator and Food Bank volunteers collecting donations at the gates pre-game. We encourage all of our fans to bring non-perishable food OR CASH donations to the game, and when they do, they can have their photo taken with the Grey Cup! The proceeds from this year’s collection will benefit both the Greater Vancouver and Surrey Food Banks.

And at October 14th at the game, tweet using #TackleHunger for a chance to WIN a pair of tickets to an upcoming Lions home game, courtesy of Purolator.

DID YOU KNOW: for every $1 dollar donated, Purolator will recognize it as a ‘2 lb’ donation towards our team total! AND for every $1 the food bank receives, it is the equivalent of roughly $3 in terms of their buying power.
