Christmas Quotables: Favourite Movies

Christmas Movies: who doesn’t love them? How good a feeling is it to be channel surfing and finding one of your favourite holiday flicks on the tube? It may be one of the best things about the Christmas season! In our first instalment of Christmas Quotables, we talk to four members of your BC Lions about their all-time favourite movies to watch this time of year.

Jeremiah Johnson

This is hard because I have two I absolutely love. First is A Christmas Story. I think that is one of the greatest movies out there. My second one would be Home Alone, the first one. My kids watch it now and I told my daughter it was one of my favourites when I was her age and she was like ‘really!’ She thinks it’s a new movie and the fact it was her Mom and Dad’s favourite makes her love it even more. The best part is when Kevin has all of the traps laid out for the robbers. He was such a clever young kid and had the mindset that he was going to make them pay. It’s cool to go back and re-live my childhood.

Jovan Olafioye

I like Home Alone 1 and 2. They are really great movies and I still watch with my brothers. It just shows you how important it is to have family around, especially around the holidays. Those movies also serve as a great reminder to never take anything for granted.

Hear me out. It’s Elf with Will Ferrel. Why? I thought it was ridiculous the first time I watched it and now I want to see it every year. Maybe it was at a time where I was at school in Montana and the best way to spread Christmas cheer was by singing loud for all to hear. That epic line from the movie was a nostalgic thing for me but we watch it every year now.

Mine has to be The Muppet Christmas Carol, especially when Scrooge makes an appearance. It is the best LOL! The movie overall takes me back to my childhood and that’s one of the great things about the Christmas season, re-living your younger days. I am going to kick back and watch it again this year for sure!

Oh yes, we all still feel like kids when Santa comes calling. Be sure to check BCLions.com on Wednesday when we talk to members of the organization about their all-time favourite Christmas songs!
