Lions Add Receiver Trio For Mini-Camp

The BC Lions Football Club today announced that international receivers R.J. Harris, Corey Jones and Maurice Morgan have all signed with the team.

Harris (6’0”, 194) spent parts of the last two seasons with the New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons. Prior to earning his shot in the NFL, R.J. dazzled for four seasons with the New Hampshire Wildcats. The crafty route-runner smashed school and conference records by snagging 310 passes for 4,328 yards and 36 touchdowns through 49 career games. He also added 401 yards on the ground and returned 17 kickoffs for the Wildcats.

Jones (5’9”, 165) joins the Lions fresh off a stellar four-year career with the University of Toledo, reeling-in 189 passes for a total of 2,236 yards and 15 touchdowns across 48 games with the Rockets. Corey earned second team All-MAC honours in 2014 after catching 68 passes for 842 yards and five touchdowns. He was also named first team All-MAC as a punt returner in 2015 after leading the conference with a 10.2 yard average per punt return. The speedy wide out had another standout season in 2016, registering 66 receptions for 817 yards and five majors as a senior.

Morgan (6’3”, 231) is a graduate of North Carolina State University where big-bodied pass catcher played four seasons for the Wolfpack. His experience came primarily on special teams, but he was able to haul in pair of passes for 21 yards and rushed once for 5 yards during his career.

All three newly-signed receivers will take part in a 3-day mini camp for first-year Lions in Kamloops, BC from Thursday, May 25 to Saturday, May 27 and will take the field with the full team when Training Camp presented by Sun Peaks Resort officially kicks off on Sunday, May 28.
