Orange Picks Off Performer Of The Week Honour

Following a dominant defensive performance in the club’s 32-14 win over the Montreal Alouettes on Friday which included four interceptions and seven sacks, BC Lions defensive back Anthony Orange has earned CFL Performer of the Week kudos.

Orange’s efforts included a pair of interceptions highlighted by a game-clinching 54-yard pick-six late in the fourth quarter. It was Orange’s third and fourth interceptions of the 2018 campaign setting a career-high for the talented defensive back.

He is now tied with Winston Rose for the club lead in interceptions and the resurgent Lions’ now leads the CFL in interceptions (16), sacks (31) and pass knockdowns and is now tied with the Ottawa Redblacks for the most pass knockdowns (41). In addition, only the Calgary Stampeders have allowed fewer points through 15 weeks of action.

Orange and the Lions are back on the practice field later this morning ahead of Saturday’s home clash with the Hamilton-Tiger Cats. It marks the first of a huge back-to-back with the Lions slated to visit Steel Town exactly one week later.
