Lions Add Canadians Davis, Stanford and Woodman

The BC Lions Football Club today announced that free agents Terrell Davis (LB), Joshua Stanford (WR) and Josh Woodman (DB) have signed contracts with the team for the 2019 season.

Davis (6’0”, 225) hails from Victoria and returns to the West Coast after spending three seasons and 51 regular season games in Hamilton. A UBC grad who became the 21st overall selection in the 2016 CFL Draft, Davis immediately stepped in as a defensive and special teams mainstay in Steel Town recording 20 special teams tackles, 11 defensive stops and a pair of sacks.

Stanford (6’0”, 200) a three-year CFL veteran, joins the Lions after dividing his time between the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Montreal Alouettes last season. An eighth-round selection by the ‘Riders in the 2016 CFL Draft (62nd overall), the University of Kansas grad has appeared in 24 games recording 23 receptions for 252 yards.

Woodman (6’1”, 195) also brings three years of experience to the Lions secondary after a 33-game run with the Edmonton Eskimos. The Ontario native and former Western Mustang was a fifth-round selection in the 2016 CFL Draft and tallied 35 tackles and another 15 on special teams.
