After a dominating performance by the BC Lions in the 2011 Western Final last Sunday, defensive back Korey Banks, running back Andrew Harris and kicker Paul McCallum have picked up Gibson’s Finest CFL Players of the Week honours.

Banks picks up the Defensive Player of the Week nod after setting the tone early on defence with a number of hard hits on Edmonton receivers. He finished the day with six tackles and an interception in the second quarter which he returned 46 yards to the Eskimos 10-yard line, setting up a touchdown by Lions running back Andrew Harris.

Harris nails down Canadian Player of the Week kudos after notching seven carries for 41 yards and a 13-yard touchdown. The product of the Vancouver Island Raiders also had three catches for 29 yards including and 14-yard snag for a touchdown to put the Lions ahead 20-3.

McCallum earns yet another Special Teams Player of the Week award after hitting on all four of his field goal attempts (from 31, 42, 44 and 17 yards) as well as adding four converts for a total of 16 points on the day. Some key directional punting also had Edmonton pinned in its own end on a number of occasions.
