COMMUNITY >> Lions Share

For the third straight season, the BC Lions invited one local charity to each BC Lions regular season home game and gave them an opportunity to showcase and fundraise for their respective causes. In 2008, the BC Lions welcomed the BC Lions Society for Children with Disabilities, Ronald McDonald House, Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver, Zajac Ranch for Children, Variety - The Children's Charity, KidSport, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Vancouver, YMCA of Greater Vancouver, and the United Way of the Lower Mainland. Through the generosity of the BC Lions fans and sponsors, over $50,000 was raised throughout the season going directly towards the charities.
The BC Lions would like to thank Terasen Gas for providing the Street Party barbecue and donating all profits to the Lions Share charities, Game Day Auction for donating net proceeds from the silent auction, A-Star Face Painting for their contributions, and all the volunteers who donated their time in assisting each charity make the most of their night.
The BC Lions look forward to teaming up with local charities again during the 2009 season and with the passionate support of the BC Lions fans, we will make great memories again at BC Place both on and off the field.
During the CFL playoffs, the honourary Lions Share charity partner will be The Province Empty Stocking Fund. For more information in The Province Empty Stocking Fund, click here.
Thank you Lions fans!
