FELIONS >> About the Felions

The 2008 Felions Dance Team consists of 34 beautiful, talented and hardworking dancers. The team will be led by choreographer Aura Benwick and coordinator Alexandra Janicek.

Many of the Felions balance full-time jobs, university schedules, dance training and other performance obligations around their Felions schedule. They hail from all over the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley and rehearse downtown Vancouver every week from April to November. At every Lions home game, the dance team don their team colours - you'll find them performing at the Street Party, on the concourse selling calendars and finally on field, ready to entertain the thousands of Lions' fans and cheer on the CFL's most exciting football team!

The Felions are a busy group throughout the calendar year, making appearances in the community and fundraising to join the other CFL dance and cheer teams during Grey Cup week in Montreal, including participating in the exciting CFL Dance Showcase during the week-long Grey Cup Festival.

The Felions are also ambassadors of the BC Lions Football Club at up to 200 events through the year. They are always proud to represent the Lions at community, charity and corporate events that help raise funds for various charities and initiatives.

The Felions will launch the 2008/09 Felions Swimsuit Calendar in June 2008. In May, the 12-month (July 2008 - July 2009), full-colour wall calendar will be shot on location at the Barcelo La Jolla de Mismaloya Resort, courtesy of Transat Holidays. The Calendar will feature 20 members of the 2008 team. But don't worry if your favourite Felion isn't featured in the calendar - there will be plenty of opportunities to pick up or download posters and other promotional photos with all 34 lovely Felions on them. The calendars will be sold for $15.00 and will be available in June at the following locations:

• directly from the Felions at every game, at the Street Party, and on the concourse
• at all merchandise stands around the concourse at BC Lions home games
• online at www.bclionstore.com
• at the Surrey Training Facility office
• at most Felions appearances

How do you become a Felion? Auditions for the Felions Dance Team are held in the spring prior to each season. The dance team members are chosen based on appearance, personality and dance ability.
