The BC Lions Orange Helmet Awards dinner is a marquee event on the BC Lions calendar, with proceeds supporting amateur football in the province of British Columbia. This dinner was created to recognize the provincial champions for all levels of amateur football plus pioneers, coaches and lifetime achievers to the game from across British Columbia. On Saturday, March 1st, the fifth-annual Orange Helmet Awards Dinner was held at the Westin Bayshore Resort & Marina in downtown Vancouver with TSN colour commentator Glen Suitor as Master of Ceremonies and renowned ESPN sportscaster Chris Berman delivering the keynote address. Combined proceeds from all five Orange Helmet Award celebrations have now provided more than $235,000 in grassroots football support.
