Brandon was signed as a free agent by the Lions on February 9, 2016.

 

Highlights:Stewart action 16
2016: Brandon started 17 of 18 regular season games for the Lions recording 64 defensive stops while adding 10 more on special teams to go along with five knockdowns. His biggest outing was in Edmonton on Sep. 23 when he notched a season-high nine tackles.

 

2014-2015 (Ham): Brandon appeared in all 36 regular season games during his two-year stint with the Tiger-Cats tallying 106 defensive stops with 14 more on special teams along with five interceptions, two of which he returned for touchdowns. Brandon also made his first Grey Cup appearance in 2014.

 

2009-2013 (Wpg): Brandon enjoyed a productive five-year career with Winnipeg after signing as a free agent in 2009. After just four appearances in his first season as a ‘Bomber, he went on to play 64 more games over the next four seasons, all as a starting defense back. The hard-hitting and versatile defender notched 129 tackles while in Winnipeg along with 10 knockdowns and eight interceptions.

 

2007-2008 (Cal): Brandon spent most of the 2007 season on Calgary’s practice roster and appeared in one game where he made two tackles.  He dressed in one game for the Stamps in 2008 before being released.

 

College:
Stewart had a short career at Eastern Arizona Junior College, playing only one season before leaving the school to compete for a job in the CFL.

 

Personal:
Brandon was a track and basketball star at Ingraham High School in Seattle, WA. In his senior year, he won the district title in hurdles and also qualified for the state championship in three other events. He credits his success in track to helping him become a faster football player.  Growing up, he loved the Seattle Mariners and Supersonics and lists Ken Griffey Jr. and Shawm Kemp as his sports idols growing up. One of his closest friends served as a Mariners bat boy. Brandon’s favourite TV show is Vikings.
