Highlights:
Chris Williams2015-2016
(Ottawa): Following his return from a brief NFL stint, the diminutive and furiously fast New Mexico State grad signed with the Ottawa RedBlacks and torched opposing defences with 165 receptions for 2,460 yards and 15 touchdowns over two seasons and 30 starts. A threat to score each time he touched the ball, Chris added another 451 yards on 69 punt returns during that time. In 2016, he set a new CFL mark for receiving yards in the first three games of the year with performances of 176, 187 and 130 yards. A late season knee injury kept him out of playoff action as Ottawa enjoyed a historic championship run.

Williams Chicago2013-2014: Chris signed with the New Orleans Saints in October 2013, but did not see regular season action before being waived and eventually signed by the Chicago Bears in December that year. The following season he made his NFL debut with the Bears appearing in seven games for the club and notching a 101-yard kickoff return versus the Green Bay Packers in November. He was waived by Chicago that December.

williams hamilton2011-2012 (Hamilton): Chris enjoyed both a sensational rookie debut and sophomore season with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats after joining the club as a free agent in October 2010 and spend the remaining weeks of that season on the team’s practice roster. In 2011, he played in 15 games tallying 70 receptions for 1,064 yards and six majors. The lofty numbers earned him the CFL’s Most Outstanding Rookie and an East Division All-Star nod.

In 2012, Chris added and incredible kick return game to his repertoire and in addition to his 83 receptions for 1,298 yards and 11 touchdowns, he also terrorized opposing teams with 1,117 punt return yards on 78 returns with five touchdowns over a full slate of 18 games. His spectacular TD on a 119-yard missed field goal attempt versus Toronto that season gave him six touchdown returns on the year, tying a CFL record. The amazing follow-up to his rookie campaign saw Chris haul in the CFL’s Most Outstanding Special Teams Player honour as well as CFL and East Division All-Star recognition.

2009-2010: Chris signed with the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2009 and was waived at the end of training camp. He signed to Cleveland’s practice squad in November that same year before being released and eventually signing with Hamilton.

College:
2005-2008
: Chris enjoyed four incredible seasons  at New Mexico State notching 246 receptions for 3,555 yards and 32 touchdowns. The blazing fast receiver also contributed 42 kickoff returns for 1,033 yards and two touchdowns, along with 51 punt returns for 297 yards and a major. His Aggies career was highlighted with a school record 92 catches for 1,425 yards in 2006 and an NCAA-leading 117.9 yards per game. It also earned him a nomination for the Biletnikoff Award for the top receiver in the country.

Personal:
A quick study on and off the field, Chris majored in Biology at New Mexico State. His fondest football memory was returning a missed field goal attempt 119 yards for a touchdown versus Toronto in the 2012 Labour Day Classic. The spectacular return etched Chris’ name in the history books, as he set a new single-season record for punt return touchdowns with six.

Chris is a big fan of hip-hop and R&B, listing J Cole as his favourite artist. The fastest man in football is a family man and when he isn’t catching touchdown passes, he is spending time with his wife and kids. His hometown is Rio Rancho, NM and that is where he spends his offseason. If Chris wasn’t playing football, he would like to be a star on the silver screen.
