Matt was signed as a free agent by the Lions in February 2017.
2016: Matt was invited to a workout with his hometown Philadelphia Eagles but was eventually signed by the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent. He was waived by the Giants after a shoulder injury sidelined him late in camp.
2012-2015: The speedy Pennsylvania native appeared in 42 games over four years at Lafayette recording a total of 108 individual tackles 10 of which were for a loss along with four sacks. He was a two-time All-Patriot Conference first-team selection at cornerback and also collected first-team special teams recognition as a sophomore in 2013 setting a school record in kickoff returns with 29.6-yard average. As a senior in 2015, he was selected as the Leopard’s team MVP after notching 31 solo stops and an interception.
Matt resides in Philadelphia and was a Computer Science major in college. He notes the 150th meeting between Lafayette and Lehigh played at Yankee Stadium as his biggest football memory to date. When he’s not preparing for football season, you’ll find Matt on the basketball court or kicking back with some video games. He’s big fan of Game of Thrones and prefers the musical stylings of J. Cole.
