Tevin was signed as a free agent by the Lions in January 2017.
2015: Tevin was signed by the Oakland Raiders as an undrafted free agent and was placed on the club’s practice roster coming out of training camp. While he was activated to the 53-man squad twice that year, he did not see game action.
2010-2014: Tevin began his college career at UCLA in 2010 where he red-shirted his freshman season before seeing the field for 27 games over the next two years. The gifted defensive back collected 100 defensive stops and four interceptions during his time as a Bruin. He transferred to Eastern Washington for his final two years of eligibility and tallied another 80 tackles and four picks with the Eagles. The California native was a Third-Team All-Big Sky selection in 2013 and a First Team selection as a senior in 2014.
Tevin grew up in a football family. His dad, Tim, played 13 seasons in the NFL and was a six-time Pro Bowl safety and his older brother, T.J., is currently a safety with the Miami Dolphins. He was also coached by his Dad during his days at Edison High School in his hometown of Fresno, CA. Tevin’s most memorable moment on the gridiron came when he intercepted three passes for UCLA during a contest with the California Golden Bears in 2011.
Tevin will watch anything starring Mike Epps and cites Martin as his favourite television show. He lists Kendrick Lamar and J Cole as a couple of his favourite musicians to listen to while suiting up before a game. The Fresno, CA product says that his cousin, Jalen, is his biggest fan. Tevin is a foodie and he is always on the lookout for great spots to grab a bite to eat. If he wasn’t playing professional football, Tevin would like to venture into the business world and run his own company.
