Jackson signed as a free agent with the Lions on May 31, 2012.
2013: In his second season with the Lions, Ernest was primarily a reserve receiver seeing action in two regular season games, both starts however. He started on July 30 vs Toronto and again on Sep. 22 vs Saskatchewan where he had his best game of the year hauling in four passes for 32 yards against the Riders. Ernest spent the remainder of the season on the 46-man game roster and injured list.
2012: Ernest spent the first five weeks on the practice roster before being activated for his CFL debut on Aug 6 at Toronto. He had an immediate impact, leading the team with a season-best 87 receiving yards on four catches in his very first game. The rest of the way, Ernest saw action in nine more games and ended up with 347 yards on 27 receptions including four games with four or more catches. He also picked up valuable rushing yards as well averaging 10.8 yards on eight carries including a 15-yard TD run on Aug. 19 vs Saskatchewan and added a career-best 29-yard run vs Montreal on Sep 8.

2005-2008: Over four seasons with the Bulls, Jackson recorded 116 career receptions for 1,403 yards and 11 TDs. He also returned 15 kicks for 341 yards and a touchdown along with three punt returns for 35 yards.
Ernest makes his off-season home in Rochester, NY where he works as a teacher assistant and a support professional. Graduating from the University of Buffalo with a degree in Human Services and Early Childhood, he intends on a pursuing a career related to the treatment and development of children and families in the area of life skills.
Ernest has been playing football since the age of nine and recalls a high school playoff game where he rushed for 296 yards and two touchdowns while making seven tackles on defence. His team lost the game but he was offered a scholarship from U of B the same night. When not working and training, he loves spending time with family and friends and enjoys the musical styling of Jagged Edge.
