Lions add international receiver duo

The BC Lions Football Club today announced that international receivers Uzoma Nwachukwu (pronounced wa-cha-ku) and Kendrick Ings have signed with the team.

Nwachukwu actionNwachukwu was an undrafted free agent signing of the Houston Texans in 2013 following a productive four-year career at Texas A&M. He spent the better part of two seasons on Houston’s practice roster as well as a short stint with the Miami Dolphins before signing with the Leos.

Ings spent the 2015 season with the Tampa Bay Storm of the AFL where he racked up 997 yards on 68 receptions with 15 touchdowns.Ings action The speedy wideout also returned three kickoffs for touchdowns last year. The lofty numbers earned him a tryout with the Detroit Lions where he spent a few weeks on the practice roster last September.

Both newcomers are expected to participate in the Lions’ off-season mini-camp slated for late April at the club’s Surrey practice facility.
