The BC Lions Football Club today announced that international linebacker Solomon Elimimian has signed a contract with the team through the 2019 season.

One of the greatest linebackers to pull on the orange and black, Elimimian enters his ninth season in with the Lions in 2018 and comes off another historic campaign in 2017 setting a CFL record with 144 defensive stops through 18 regular season games.

Solomon has been the centerpiece of our defence for a number of years and this is great news for the club and our fans,” said head coach Wally Buono. “He continues to play at a very  high level and I know how deeply he cares for this team and being part of our community.”

The CFL’s Most Outstanding player in 2014 and a two-time Most Outstanding Defensive Player in 2014 and 2016, Elimimian is the Lions’ all-time leader in defensive tackles with 719 and 755 combined tackles overall. A four-time CFL All-Star, the future Hall of Fame candidate has appeared in 114 regular season games and hit double-digits in tackles six times last season.
