Maxx Forde Dealt to Ottawa for rights to WR Jordan Veasy, 6th Round Pick

Hours after the BC Lions prevailed 26-14 over Ottawa, the two teams announced a trade on Saturday morning.

GM Ed Hervey has shipped national defensive lineman Maxx Forde to the nation’s capital for the negotiation rights to WR Jordan Veasy and Ottawa’s sixth-round selection in the 2019 CFL Draft.

A native of Alabama, Veasy played two seasons for the University of California Golden Bears, racking up 63 receptions for 797 yards and nine touchdowns. More recently, he attended camp with the Tennessee Titans before being waived on September 1st.

Forde heads east after appearing in 27 games over the last three seasons in orange, a shoulder injury limiting him to just four appearances so far in 2018. He was selected in the seventh round by the Lions in the 2015 CFL Draft.
