In accordance with the CFL’s policy allowing teams to expand their practice roster to 15 players (not counting global players), the BC Lions Football Club today announced that following five players have been added:
Josiah St. John (OL, 6’5”, 305, National) – St. John was the league’s first overall selection in the 2016 CFL Draft by the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He spent three years in Regina appearing in 22 regular season games before signing as a free agent with the Toronto Argonauts this past May.
Jamie Harry (DB, 6’2”, 215, National) – Harry was a 2019 fifth-round selection (39th overall) of the Toronto Argonauts and attended training camp with the Argos this past May. The former Ottawa Gee-Gee and Quebec native enjoyed a productive U-Sport career piling-up 98 solo stops and 14 interceptions. His lofty numbers in 2017 which included 33 tackles and five picks over eight starts earned him an OUA First-Team All-Star selection.
Jason Hall (DB, 6’3”, 215, American) – Hall began his pro playing days as an undrafted free agent signing of the Atlanta Falcons in 2018. He also had a training camp stint with the Seattle Seahawks last year before making his was way north to the practice roster of the Montreal Alouettes. He re-signed with Als last December and attended training camp with the club in May. The former Texas Longhorn appeared in 48 games in Austin and rung-up an impressive 110 solo stops from his safety position.
Elijah Campbell (DB, 5’11”, 190, American) – Campbell was an undrafted free agent signing of the Cleveland Browns in 2018 and attended training camp with the club after splitting his collegiate playing days between Northern Illinois and Northern Iowa. The Minnesota native made his pro debut with the Birmingham Iron of the ill-fated AAF in 2019 appearing in eight games tallying 12 tackles and four knockdowns.
Siupeli Anau (DL, 6’3”, 250, American) – Anua spent a short training camp stint with the Arizona this past August following an eight-game run with the now-defunct AAF’s Arizona Hotshots. The Phoenix native attended Northern Arizona University and appeared in 20 games over a pair of seasons making 46 solo tackles to go along with nine sacks.
