Lions Add Three To Receiving Corps

The BC Lions Football Club today announced that international receivers Jenson Stoshak and Robert Wheelwright along with national receiver Mitchell Hillis have signed with the team.

Hillis (6’0”, 185) will attend his second training camp with the Lions this coming May. The University of Saskatchewan product was the club’s eighth-round selection (69th overall) in the 2017 CFL Draft. He returned to the Huskies last fall for his final year of eligibility and tallied 52 receptions for 935 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Stoshak (6’0”, 200) also had a taste of CFL training camp last season after signing with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. The Florida Atlantic grad hauled in 131 receptions over a four-year, 43-game span with the Owls for 1,881 yards and six majors. He is also a former undrafted free agent signing of the Carolina Panthers.

Wheelwright (6’3”, 200) will attempt to crack the Lions’ lineup following a four-year run at the University of Wisconsin where he recorded 69 receptions for 880 career yards and six touchdowns in a run-heavy offence. After signing with the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent, he eventually landed in Kansas City and attended training camp with the Chiefs in 2017.
