The BC Lions not only have a terrific fan base, we also have the great privilege of being supported by a number of tremendous business partners. In these unprecedented times as we team up to battle COVID-19, we encourage you to continue to support these outstanding partners of the BC Lions and read some of the encouraging thoughts they have for you, our fans.

LONDON DRUGS

London Drugs offers dedicated shopping hours for those working on the front lines of the fight against COVID-19. Across 82 stores, London Drugs offers exclusive shopping for all healthcare workers and first responders during the last hour of the store’s opening, between 8-9 pm daily Monday to Saturday and 7-8 pm Sunday. “We are offering frontline workers a dedicated time to get their shopping done as easy and as stress-free as possible. They often work long shifts and many stores are closed by the time they are off their day shifts,” said Clint Mahlman, London Drugs president and chief operating officer. “We know it is a stressful time for those working on the frontline of this health crisis and it is imperative we do everything we can to help these individuals stay healthy and take care of them as best we can.”

TELUS

As a long standing partner of the BC Lions, our friends at TELUS are working on a number of initiatives to help Canadians during this crisis. BC Place is committed to supporting the community during this unprecedented time. The Centerplate team at the stadium has continued to work closely (at a safe distance) with Vancouver Harbour Light to deliver much needed food to our neighbours in the Downtown Eastside. To date, over 5,000 pounds of food has been donated, including over 6,000 bags of potato chips, 3,200 cans of pop and 760 bags of peanuts.

The stadium is also continuing to help shine a light on charities and non-profit causes that are important to British Columbians through its globally-recognized Northern Lights Display. This includes lighting up blue in a show of support for health care workers and essential services employees around the world who are working tirelessly during the COVID-19 pandemic.

BC FEDERATION OF LABOUR

These are challenging times. But a time when BC workers are pulling together to care and support one another. We honour and thank the workers—in health care and child care, in grocery stores, food delivery, and many more— who are on the front lines ensuring we all do our part to flatten the curve. We continue to advocate for the safety and rights of all workers, whether they’re still on the front lines, or now find themselves suddenly unemployed. Check out our resources for workers during COVID-19 at BCFED.ca.
