SUPERVISOR(S): Sr. Coordinator, Game Operations, Community & Events Manager, Game Operations & Events
FUNCTIONS
- To provide support in the coordination and execution of venue and game day operations for BC Lions home games.
- To assist in the coordination of the BC Lions events portfolio
WORKS DIRECTLY WITH
All members of the BC Lions organization and other key contacts, including but not limited to: BC Place, BC Lions Dance Team, BC Lions Promo Team, TSN, Galactic Entertainment, Club Partners, etc.
RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Game Day Operations
- Assist Sr. Coordinator in the creation and distribution of the Game Day Activity Sheets for all staff, including BC Place personnel
- Assist Sr. Coordinator with Game Operations responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Stadium setup and strike, including concourse, show offices, radio and volunteer headquarters, signage, and catering
- Coordination of the BC Lions Tailgate Party on Terry Fox Plaza at BC Place
- Coordination of the BC Lions Volunteer Program. Including recruitment, planning, scheduling and managing volunteers
- Communicate game day requirements and needs are taken care of with Leo the Lion (BC Lions Mascot)
- Assist in the coordination of pre/post game giveaways with Club, Partners, BC Place and Volunteers
- Assist in the coordination of game day accreditation, including distribution and managing on game days
2. Special Events
- Assist in the coordination and execution of BC Lions events, including but not limited to:
- BC Lions Fan Fest
- BC Lions Play with the Pros
- Draft a Lion
- Viewing Parties
- Lions Den
- Locker Room Sale
3. Duties as assigned by the Sr. Coordinator, Game Operations or Manager, Game Operations
QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, EXPERIENCE)
Education and Experience
- Current post-secondary student or recent graduate in a related field (Business, Sport Management, Event Planning, etc.)
- Experience working in a professional office environment an asset
- Basic knowledge of football and the Canadian Football League an asset
Job Specific Competencies
- Must possess proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent verbal, written, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to take direction well and multi-task under pressure
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working in a time sensitive and live event environment
- A keen attention to detail and sense of urgency
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Some evenings and weekends during the season, as well as specific event-related dates, will be required
