Director, Corporate Partnership Sales

Reporting to the Vice President of Business, the Director, Corporate Partnership Sales is responsible for the acquisition of new sponsors and business partnerships with a goal of increasing revenue by leveraging sponsorship, advertising and special events inventory in a fast paced sports business environment.


  • Prospect, develop, sell, and maintain new and current business partnerships to accomplish sales goals
  • Manage existing accounts, achieving a high renewal rate each season
  • Develop and grow prospect list utilizing creative ideas for lead generation
  • Work with sponsorship activation team to prepare exciting and creative proposals to attract new sponsors at all levels
  • Assisting the development and management of the Club’s annual sponsorship business plan to help achieve sponsorship sales goals, with a focus on new business development and retention
  • Prepare contractual agreements for sponsors reflecting key details of agreement in accordance with company policy
  • Conduct relevant market research and analysis to identify key trends in business sectors’ advertising and marketing strategies that provide a solution to those strategy needs
  • Attend local networking events to develop, maintain and grow new professional relationships
  • Document and track sales process through the Salesforce CRM system, maintaining organized client information and notes
  • Monitor the sponsorship marketplace, including local and national sports and entertainment properties

The Director, Corporate Partnership Sales assists in the sale of all BC Lions sponsorship inventory and works closely with the Vice President of Business to develop sponsorship programs with partner companies that engage BC Lions fans and stakeholder groups through impactful marketing and communications initiatives. Additionally, the Director, Corporate Partnership Sales works together with the Director of Community Relations to align appropriate partners with the Club’s community relations programs. The Director, Corporate Partnership Sales also works with the partnership activation team to develop sponsorship partner packages and other collateral to execute and activate corporate partner programs in order to grow revenue.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or relevant post secondary education
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in partnership sales or business to business sales required
  • Strong prospecting, analytical and presentation skills
  • Excellent, professional written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Extremely detailed, motivated, and able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize goals
  • Ability to meet challenging sales objectives in a competitive marketplace
  • Proven track record of personal and team achievement
  • Demonstrate creativity and innovation in the development of long-term strategic relationships
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Word, Excel and experience working with a CRM system an asset
