Marketing Automation Specialist


The BC Lions team is growing, and we are looking for a Marketing Automation Specialist to join our marketing team!

As a Marketing Automation Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the marketing automation platform and fully leveraging its capabilities. Working closely with the graphic design, and ticketing team this role will implement all programmatic and operational initiatives through the marketing automation platform. This role will help develop the digital fan experience through email and marketing journeys and gather insight for the ticketing team for them to action upon. You thrive in a high-energy, fast-paced, team-oriented work environment. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter and a team player that understands the importance of communication and adhering to deadlines.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include (others may be assigned from time to time):

• Responsible for email marketing program development and execution, including segmentation, testing, and deployment, and continually evaluate these for improvements.

• Maintain marketing automation integration with CRM and assist in the integration of additional platforms into the marketing automation software.

• Understand and evaluate campaign metrics and distribute campaign performance to the marketing team.

• Digest and translate data for sales teams to identify areas of improvement and possible sales successes.

• Work with management to define KPIs, create reporting, analyze campaign performance. Create recommendations to improve campaigns continuously.

• Manage marketing automation efforts and processes, proactively researching and implementing the latest best practices, strategies, and industry standards.

• Plan and perform A/B testing to define and execute enhancements to productivity, conversion rates, programs/campaign ROI, and sales growth.

• Oversee connectivity and fan journey for digital ad campaigns.

• Use an analytics-driven approach in assessing business problems.

• Working with ticketing team to coordinate regular Season Ticket Holder email communications, coordinate content and creative for regular email newsletters and event-specific ticket sales campaigns and track performance.

• Work with CRM manager to improve data quality, help manage lead activation from the ticketing department, run regular email reporting and track email campaign performance.

• Gain an understanding of organizational objectives and craft supportive email marketing strategy.

• Curate and execute ad campaigns including road-mapping/conceptualizing to copywriting.

• Provide insights and reporting on campaign effectiveness and returns.

• Use data to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple landing pages and customer touchpoints and provide recommendations for improvements.

• Work closely with the entire Marketing team to plan, write ad campaigns and optimize budgets across channels, campaigns to maximize investment and meet/exceed targets.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Proven years of marketing automation experience.

• Strong working knowledge of Salesforce and Marketing Cloud. Salesforce certification preferred.

• Experienced in HTML development

• Working knowledge of data visualization software.

• Advanced working knowledge in Excel.

Marketing Automation Specialist

• Experience developing and implementing digital campaigns including budgets and metrics.

• Ability to identify new opportunities within paid channels for expansion and campaign creation.

• Knowledge of email marketing best practices and Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation.

• Must have superior communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to work with minimal supervision, take initiative and problem-solve independently.

• Ability to work under pressure and deal with last-minute changes and issues with a great sense of urgency.

• Must be able to work extended and irregular hours, including evenings and weekends as required.

• Must be available to work at all BC Lions home games and provide support during away games as required.
