Position Title: Outreach Associate
Department: Community

The BC Lions are looking for a highly organized candidate with excellent interpersonal skills for the position of Outreach Associate. Our Outreach Associate is responsible for interacting with fans and community members at BC Lions games & event, selling merchandise and tickets, inspecting equipment after use, and checking equipment against an inventory list, among other duties as assigned. They will work under the instructions of the Community Outreach Coordinator.

Moreover, the Outreach Associate needs to constantly be on their feet and attend to the many needs of event-goers, requiring physical stamina, high energy levels, and a positive attitude.

Outreach Associate Responsibilities:

  • Working as a front-line contact to promote the BC Lions brand to the province of British Columbia.
  • Working in cohesion with our Promo team, Mascot and Players.
  • Performing community giveaways at events.
  • Helping grow the BC Lions fan base by interacting with potential new customers, as well as helping to maintain existing ones.
  • Unloading equipment from trucks and setting up venues for events, including our new promo trailer, chairs, inflatables, sound systems, lighting and signage.
  • Operating debit machines and conducting the sale of BC Lions tickets and merchandise.
  • Adhering to event safety standards.
  • Ensuring excellent levels of customer service.
  • Dispensing useful information to event-goers regarding our home games, future events and organization as a whole.
  • Ensuring the promo vehicle and trailer are clean and presentable
  • Inspecting equipment for damage after use and checking it against an inventory list.
  • Packing up equipment when the event is completed.

Outreach Associate Requirements:

  • Outstanding organizational skills and time management skills.
  • Diligence and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a friendly demeanor.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to comfortably lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform under stress.
  • Excellent multitasking ability.
  • Conflict management skills.
  • A valid Drivers License and ability to drive a truck and trailer is a must.
  • Work evenings, weekends and day shifts as events dictate.
  • Excitement about working in the sports industry.
  • A background in marketing, events and/or previous experience in a promo/street team capacity (not required).
  • Willingness to work at events at BC Place and in other communities across the province.
  • Legal entitlement to work in Canada.
  • Previous performance and or dance background is also a plus.
