Position Title: Social Media Coordinator

Department: Marketing


The BC Lions digital team is growing, and we are looking for a talented, passionate and driven Social Media Coordinator to join

the BC Lions marketing team.

This person will be the driving force behind our social content by capturing, scheduling, publishing, and distributing content

regularly on behalf of the BC Lions as well as directly interacting with our ever-growing fan base. This position will be

responsible for the maintenance of all social channels and will develop dynamic content (designing rich graphics &

shooting/editing short videos), covering live events and providing the latest news surrounding the BC Lions specific to each

channel. Their role will also include the development and reporting of regular analytics and develop channel growth

strategies. This is not your typical 9-5 job. A major part of our storytelling occurs on game days and you’ll be expected to work

for home and away games.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include (others may be assigned from time to time):

• As part of the content team, this position is integral to aid in the development of the BC Lions digital media strategy

and lead the execution across all digital platforms.

• Execute the daily management as well as annual growth for all club owned digital channels.

• Develop process of sharing analytics to club monthly.

• Work collaboratively with the creative team to ensure content shared is best in class and ensure digital channels are

optimized and efficient.

• Two-way communication/engage in dialog and conversation with our social followers (including but not limited to:

Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram and YouTube).

• Lead the development of new and existing social media, traffic, and data reporting tools, converting raw data into

easy to digest reports to measure program effectiveness and guide future marketing strategies.

• Develop process of sharing analytics to club monthly.

• Show desire for improvement and elevate those around you to think big.

• Think outside the box, learn the business lines of the organization by creating assets that can provide additional

revenue streams for the club through our digital channels.

• Monitor digital trends and adapt design and strategy accordingly.

• Work closely with graphic design & brand team to ensure channels represent club’s brand standards.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• A relevant degree or diploma such as Marketing, Communications or Journalism or at least two years of social media

related work experience

• Strong writing and editing skills, including excellent grammar, spelling and proofreading

• A true passion for sports, and in-depth knowledge of the BC Lions, CFL and football

• The ability to think creatively with quick wit and ability to read and react to situations

• Experience with Photoshop and familiarity with other Adobe Creative Suite programs including Premiere

• Ability to juggle multiple tasks under tight deadlines and work odd and unpredictable hours

• Ability to work evenings and weekends as required, as well as all game days

• A thorough understanding of social media best practices on all platforms
