The Nanaimo native returns to the Lions after his CFL coaching career began here from 2000-02 where he worked with the team’s special teams and running backs while earning his first of two Grey Cup rings in his first season. Cory most recently served as a special teams assistant with the Ottawa RedBlacks from 2022-24 while previously serving as special teams coordinator with the Toronto Argonauts (2019-20), Edmonton Eskimos (2016-18), Winnipeg Blue Bombers (2006-09), Montreal Alouettes (2005) and Calgary Stampeders (2003-04). Cory also served as running backs coach in his stints with the Bombers and Alouettes.

He won a second Grey Cup in Saskatchewan as special teams assistant in 2013 before returning for a second stint in Winnipeg as linebackers coach from 2014-15. Cory also had a stint in U Sports as assistant head coach of the Ottawa Gee- Gees from 2011-13 and spent the 2022 season overseas in Poland on the staff of Panthers Worclaw.

Before moving to the coaching ranks, Cory suited up with the UBC Thunderbirds and was part of the Vanier Cup-winning squad of 1997.
