Glen Young- Linebackers Coach
Glen joins the Lions as linebackers coach for 2025 after spending last season as defensive line coach with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and a stint as defensive coordinator with the Toronto Argonauts from 2020-21. The native of Scarborough, Ontario previously spent four seasons as the front seven coordinator with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers from 2016-19. In addition to helping Adam Bighill and Willie Jefferson win Most Outstanding Defensive Player in 2018 and 2019, respectively, Glen won a Grey Cup in his final season on the Bombers’ staff.
Before returning to the CFL in the coaching ranks, Glen was a graduate assistant at Michigan State and joined Hampden Sydney College in Virginia as linebackers coach/run game coordinator/special teams coordinator/head strength coach from 2008-13 and then went to Brockport University for three seasons as associate head coach and defensive coordinator.
Following his college playing career at Syracuse, Glen was selected by Hamilton in round three (22nd overall) of the 1992 CFL Draft. After stints with the Los Angeles Raiders and Buffalo Bills from 1993-94, Glen landed with the San Diego Chargers and suited up in 22 games while appearing in Super Bowl XXIX against San Francisco in January 1995. The linebacker returned north to suit up with Toronto (1998-00), Montreal (2001) and on to Edmonton for his final four seasons where he won two Grey Cups with the green and gold in 2003 and 2005.
