Kevin Bourgoin | Wide Receivers Coach, Pass Game Coordinator
Kevin’s playmakers were major cogs in the offensive wheel last season, as Keon Hatcher Sr. led the CFL with 1,688 receiving yards and was one of five Lion receivers to eclipse the 600-yard mark in 2025. Hatcher and McInnis both earned All-CFL selections in the process.
Kevin joined the Lions ahead of 2025 following a successful eight-year run with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, beginning as running backs coach from 2017-19. His first season saw the Bombers lead the CFL with 101.3 rushing yards per game while Andrew Harris won the league’s rushing title in each of Kevin’s three seasons in the position.
A two-time Grey Cup champion in Winnipeg (2019, 2021), Kevin took over as receivers coach ahead of 2021. Under his guidance, Kenny Lawler (2021) and Dalton Schoen (2022) each led the CFL in receiving while Schoen collected CFL Most Outstanding Rookie in 2022. Nik Demski was another Blue Bomber who took his career to new heights, eclipsing 1,000 yards in 2023. That same season, Drew Wolitarsky and Rasheed Bailey each set new career highs.
Before joining the Blue Bombers, Kevin spent 15 seasons at the University of Maine (2002-16), beginning as quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator before being elevated to associate head coach in 2007. His coaching career began at Colby College in 1997 where he worked with the school’s receivers and tight ends.
