Mike enters his third season with the Lions and second working exclusively with the running backs. Prior to joining the Lions in February of 2016, Tsawwassen native spent three years on the coaching staff at Simon Fraser University where he worked under former Lions Jacques Chapdelaine, Kelly Bates and Joe Paopao. During his time on the Burnaby Mountain campus, Lionello climbed the ladder from video coordinator to running backs coach and director of football operations.

The 27-year old University of Victoria grad will be responsible breaking down game film and prepare the coaching staff for every opponent as well as providing statistical analysis. He played high school football for the South Delta Sun Devils and was part of the squad that advanced to the BC High School championship game against Handsworth in 2008. Off the field and outside the office, Lionello enjoys golfing, tennis and some of the many outdoor hikes BC has to offer.
