Paul Charbonneau | Offensive Line Coach
Paul begins his second season as offensive line coach after serving in the same capacity with his hometown Ottawa RedBlacks from 2022-23. In 2026, he adds run game coordinator to his duties on the coaching staff.
The 2025 campaign saw a resurgence on the offensive line, as Charbonneau’s unit paved the way for Rourke and the offence to produce at a record level, while allowing a CFL-low 20 sacks. Despite injuries that led to multiple lineup combinations throughout the year, Charbs’ offensive line performed at a high level week in and week out.
Before going back to the nation’s capital, he gained CFL coaching experience under legendary offensive line coach Bob Wylie with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (2014-15) and moved on to the Montreal Alouettes (2016-17), while with both the offensive line and running backs. Following his stint with Montreal, Paul spent 2018 as the offensive line coach at Lindenwood University-Belleville (NAIA), coached running backs at Washington University in St. Louis (NCAA) and then became co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at Roosevelt University (NAIA).
Paul began his coaching career at the University of North Dakota (2006-09) where he worked with the school’s offensive line and tight ends. From there, he moved on to the role of offensive line coach at Valley City State University and then assistant head coach at Avila University before his return north of the border.
