Amechi signed with the Lions as part of the NFL’s practice roster expansion in September 2024. He re-signed with the team in December.
Highlights:
2023: Amechi signed with the Los Angeles Chargers on April 30 and was released as part of the team’s final training camp cuts at the end of August.
College:
2018-22: Suited up in 57 games at Ball State and recorded 172 total tackles (138 solo, 34 assisted), four tackles for a loss, 44 pass breakups, ten interceptions, two sacks, two forced fumbles and a pair of fumble recoveries. Won the Ball State John Hodge Award as most valuable freshman in 2018 and was an All-Mid American Conference second-team selection in 2019.
