The BC Lions selected Ben in the third round (22nd overall) of the 2021 CFL Draft.
2019-2021: Ben was Thunderbirds’ defensive captain in 2019, who registered 58 total tackles, four tackles for loss, two sacks and one 50-yard pick-six. He was named a Canada West All-Star and a U SPORTS Second-Team All-Canadian at the end of the 2019 season. Although university sports were cancelled in 2020, Ben impressed many scouts in the 2021 virtual combine, who benched (225 lbs) 29 times, ran a 4.66 for the 40-yard dash, 10′ 7” broad jump, 6.66 seconds 3-cone and 4.16 seconds shuttle time.
2018: The defensive captain, a Canada West All-Star and a U SPORTS First-Team All-Canadian had 73 total tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, one forced fumble and 3 fumble recoveries.
2017: Ben registered 58 total tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, one sack, a forced fumble and three fumble recoveries as a freshman at UBC.
Ben studied psychology at UBC, who once led the Vernon Secondary School Panthers to school’s first ever B.C. AA Subway Bowl high school football championship and was the first Vernon provincial AA MVP in 2016.
