Boqiao was selected in round two (18th overall) by the Lions in the 2021 Global Draft.

Highlights:

Boqiao (pronounced Bo-Chow) was introduced to football at the age of 15. As an active member of China Arena Football League, he would become the first Chinese-born player to be selected for the NFL Pathways Program. After spending some time training with fellow competitors in Tampa, Florida, Boqiao then enrolled at University of Charleston. In 2018, Boqiao also suited up for the Georgia Doom in the Arena Football League.

Personal:

Boqiao has family ties to the lower mainland, with aunts, uncles and cousins residing in East Vancouver and Burnaby. He lists former BC Lions defensive lineman Paul Cheng as his football mentor. The pair were teammates in arena football in China. Boqiao has also suited up for China’s Rugby Sevens squad.
