Brayden was signed as a free agent by the Lions on December 19, 2024.
Highlights:
2019-23: Selected in round two (15th overall) by the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the 2019 CFL Draft, the big wide receiver dressed in 11 games as a rookie before becoming a regular in 2021. Brayden scored his first career touchdown in week one of that season against the Lions and went on to record career highs in receptions (37), yards (471) and touchdowns while appearing in all 14 regular season games and both the Western Semi-Final against Calgary and Western Final at Winnipeg. In 33 total games with the Riders over four seasons, Brayden caught 83 passes for 659 yards and five touchdowns. Signed with the Atlanta Falcons for 2022 training camp and returned to Saskatchewan following his release.
A major contributor to the community, he took home the 2023 Jake Gaudaur Veteran’s Award given annually to the Canadian player who best shows attributes of our soldiers- strength, perseverance, courage, comradeship and contributions to Canadian communities. Brayden has overcome two major injuries in his career: a lacerated kidney and a Lisfranc fracture in his foot which kept him out of action for the entire 2024 season.
College:
2018: Moved to New Mexico for his senior season and caught six passes for 39 yards and a touchdown in 11 games with the Lobos.
2014-17: Brayden attended the University of Washington where he played for three years and sat out 2016 as a redshirt. With the Huskies, he hauled in 42 receptions for 452 yards and three touchdowns in 39 games.
Personal:
Brayden is the son of the late Troy Dickey who suited up with the Saskatchewan Roughriders as a receiver in 1995 and was a standout at the University of Arizona. Brayden’s mother Shawna Lenius played basketball at the University of Regina. Brayden was born in Regina before moving to North Vancouver and starring with the Carson Graham Eagles of BC High School Football before moving to the Los Angeles area for his grade 12 year.
