Dane was acquired via trade from the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on February 23, 2023.

Highlights:

2022: Made 13 starts for the Tiger-Cats in the regular season and started the Eastern Semi-Final against Montreal. Over the course of the season, he tallied 305 completions on 457 attempts for a total of 3,883 yards with 16 touchdowns. He also rushed the ball 59 times for 202 yards.

2021: Dressed in 10 regular season games of which he made three starts. In 107 attempts he completed 69 passes for 787 yards, reaching the end zone six times. He added 20 carries for 114 yards and three rushing touchdowns. Evans dressed in all three playoff games for Hamilton and started the 108th Grey Cup where he completed 4 of 9 passes but left the game due to injury.

2019: Appeared in all 18 regular season games and started 11 of them. He completed an impressive 298 passes in 413 attempts which set the record for the Ticats single season completion percentage (72.2%). Was named a CFL Top Performer in Weeks 12, 19 and 20. He started in both playoff games for Hamilton, including the 107th Grey Cup where he threw for 203 yards and one touchdown.

2018: In his first full season in the CFL, Evans dressed for all 18 regular season games where he made five appearances and one start. In his first CFL start, he completed 22 of 37 passes for 315 yards and two touchdowns. Dressed for both playoff games where he totaled 77 yards with four carries and one rushing touchdown.

2017: Dane attended training camp with the Philadelphia Eagles before being waived on September 1. He then moved north to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats for the remainder of the season.

College:

2012-16: Attended the University of Tulsa where he totaled 904 completions on 1,577 attempts resulting in 11,680 yards, 84 touchdowns and 47 interceptions in 46 games. He left the school as the all-time leading passer in Tulsa history.
