Francis was selected by the Lions in round one (9th overall) of the 2023 CFL Draft.

Highlights:

2024: Francis did not see any game action in 2024 due to a hamstring injury suffered in training camp.

2023: After making his CFL debut in a September 22 victory in Edmonton, Francis would appear in nine regular season games during his rookie campaign and recorded five defensive tackles.

College:

2018- 22: Francis attended Southern Utah for five seasons and would earn First Team All-Big Sky honours on defence in the spring of 2021. In 49 total games with the Thunderbirds, Bemiy Jr. recorded 163 total tackles (87 solo, 76 assisted), 38.5 tackles for a loss, 13 sacks, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one pass knockdown.

Personal:

Francis Bemiy grew up in Montreal, Quebec, raised by his Ghanaian mother and St. Lucian father. Bemiy left home for his final two years of high school and moved to Riverside, CA to play for the RCHS Carnegie Wolverines, where he was nominated for Arrowhead League MVP in both years with the team. Bemiy also played basketball for the Wolverines, and says basketball and soccer are ‘his first true loves.’
