Jaelon was signed as a free agent by the Lions on December 1, 2025

 

Highlights:

 

2021-24: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected Jaelon in round four (129th overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft. He appeared in 21 games with the team over the next two seasons, making his mark on special teams with 50 punt returns for 472 yards. His longest went for 43 yards. He also added 21 kickoff returns for 426 yards, his longest for 35 yards. Jaelon also got eight passes for 14 yards.

The Cleveland Browns claimed him off waivers in December 2022. Over the next three seasons, he suited up in ten games with 61 punt returns for 633 yards and 139 yards on six kickoff returns and caught one pass for six yards. Jaelon was claimed by the Seattle Seahawks in December 2024 and dressed in five games with 199 yards on seven kickoff returns and ten punt returns for 75 yards.

 

College:

 

2017-20: Jaelon enjoyed an outstanding four seasons at North Texas, leaving as the program’s leader in the following receiving categories: receptions (230), yards (2,782) and touchdowns (38). In his senior season, Jaelon’s 19 touchdowns set a new single-season record for the Mean Green program, while his 1,190 yards were the second-highest ever. Those totals were also both in the top three in the nation across college football that season.

He capped off his solid 2020 campaign by earning First Team All-American from Pro Football Focus and the Football Writers Association of America.
