Highlights:
2017: After joining the Lions in September as part of the CFL’s annual practice roster expansion period, Kendall made a pair of starts at corner including his Lions debut in Winnipeg on October 28. He recorded seven defensive stops, a pass knockdown and a tackle for a loss in a promising start to his CFL career.

2016: James was signed to a reserve/future by the New York Jets. He was waived/injured in August by the Jets after being placed on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.

2015: Despite showing well in practice and preseason games, James was let go by the Cleveland Browns during final cut downs in September. After clearing waivers, the Browns placed James on their practice squad. He was signed to the Detroit Lions’ practice squad in December.

2014: The Minnesota Vikings selected James in the sixth round (184th overall) in the 2014 NFL draft. He was released by the Vikings during final cuts at the conclusion of the preseason and placed on the practice squad. In early September he was cut loose by the Vikings and signed with the Houston Texans. The Texans released James from their practice squad in late October and he was quickly signed to the San Diego Chargers’ practice squad. The Chargers released James in early December and he finished the season as a member of the Cleveland Browns’ practice squad.

College:
2009-2013: James starred for the Maine Black Bears for four seasons, tallying 136 tackles, nine interceptions, 25 pass knockdowns and forcing three fumbles across 48 career games. He was named to the All-Colonial Athletic Association team twice during his collegiate career, third team as a sophomore and first team as a senior. The Associated Press named James a second team FCS All-American following his senior season in 2013.

Personal:
Kendall crunched receivers and numbers during his time wandering the halls of the University of Maine, exiting with a degree in Finance. The 26-year-old lists being drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the sixth round of the 2014 NFL Draft as his most memorable moment. The fleet footed defensive back may have taken inspiration for his running style from his favourite movie, Forrest Gump. When he stumbles across Martin on TV, there is no chance of Kendall changing the channel. A lover of all things hip-hop, Kendall cites Wiz Khalifa as his favourite artist to listen to. Kendall can always rely on his parents to be rooting him on from the sidelines and he lists them as his biggest fans.
