Lorenzo was signed as a free agent by the Lions on July 27, 2026.

Highlights:

2022-25: Lorenzo signed with the Ottawa REDBLACKS on February 8, 2022 and made an immediate impact in year one in the nation’s capital. Along with recording a CFL-best 17 sacks to go with 43 defensive tackles, he collected the CFL’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player Award. Mauldin earned both All-CFL and East Division All-CFL in 2022 and 2024. From 2023-25, the defensive end collected 107 defensive tackles, 15 sacks and three forced fumbles. Ottawa dealt him to Calgary mid-way through 2025. He made one regular season appearance and one more in the Western Semi-Final at the Lions.

2019-21: Lorenzo moved north to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and appeared in 17 regular season contests in 2019, while recording seven defensive tackles, seven special teams stops and three sacks. Suited up in both the Eastern Semi-Final and 107th Grey Cup against Winnipeg. Year two with the Ticats saw six defensive tackles, five tackles on special teams, one sack and a forced fumble across six regular season games.

2015-18: The New York Jets selected Lorenzo in round three (82nd overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft. In 26 games over three seasons with the team, he recorded 33 tackles, 6.5 sacks and one interception.

2011-14: Mauldin played 47 games over four years at the University of Louisville, seeing action as both a defensive lineman and a linebacker. He earned second-team All-American Athletic Conference as a junior in 2023 and first-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference as a senior in 2024. During his time with the Cardinals, he accumulated 120 tackles, including 34.5 tackles for loss, 20.5 sacks and six forced fumbles.
