Matt was signed as a free agent by the Lions on June 8, 2026.

Highlights:

2026: Matt attended rookie mini-camp with the Seattle Seahawks.

College:

2022-25: Matt enjoyed a solid four-year career at Lehigh University, appearing in 62 games and registering 111 total tackles (62 solo, 49 assisted), 34 tackles for a loss, 25.5 sacks, two fumble recoveries and one pass knockdown. As a senior, the Ohio native led the squad with 14 tackles for a loss and was second on the team with nine sacks, while earning an Associated Press All-American honourable mention. Spatny was named to the Patriot League Academic Honour Roll in each of his final three years.

Matt majored in Architecture and was a teammate at Lehigh of current Lon defensive lineman T.J. Burke.
