Parnell signed a practice roster agreement with the Lions on September 26, 2023. He returned to the Lions in January 2024.
2023: Following his release from the USFL New Orleans Breakers in April, Parnell signed with the Toronto Argonauts and was released following the opening week of training camp. He went on to sign with the Montreal Alouettes in early September before ultimately landing on the Lions’ practice squad.
2022: Parnell attended training camp with the Cleveland Browns before signing with the Calgary Stampeders in late September and appearing in one game with the Stamps while recording a pair of defensive tackles.
2020-21: Signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a non-drafted free agent in May 2020 before being waived on October 12. Parnell then landed with the San Francisco 49ers before being claimed by Denver on December 15 and suiting up in two games while recording eight tackles and a fumble recovery. He would attend 2021 training camp with the Broncos before being signed by Detroit following his release.
2016-19: Parnell suited up in 53 games with the University of Oklahoma while recording 176 combined tackles (130 solo, 46 assisted), 7.5 tackles for a loss, 39 pass knockdowns, six interceptions, six forced fumbles and a pair of fumble recoveries. Parnell suited up in the Rose Bowl Semi-Final against Georgia in 2017, recording six tackles, and the Orange Bowl Semi-Final against Alabama in 2018, registering four tackles and a pass breakup. As a senior, he would be named a first-team All-Big 12 selection by media and a second-team pick by coaches.
