Career:
2017: Following a seven year absence, Ricky resigned with the club that drafted him on August 5 and participated in 11 games for the Lions in 2017. The veteran sack artist’s presence was felt on special teams and his leadership was a boost in the locker room. Foley notched four special teams tackles, one defensive stop, one quarterback sack and a forced fumble. His sack of Mike Reilly in an October 21 contest against the Edmonton Eskimos was his first in a Lions’ uniform since the East Semi-Final against the Hamilton Tiger Cats on November 15, 2009.

2015-2016: A blockbuster trade in January 2015 sent Ricky back to Toronto where he dressed for another 32 games over two seasons tallying 75 defensive stops and 10 more sacks.

2013 – 2014:  Ricky signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in February 2013 having a major impact on a stacked ‘Riders club that won a hometown Grey Cup in 2013. Appearing in 36 regular season games over two years, the talented d-end racked-up 99 tackles along with a 20 sacks including 12 in 2014 which matched his career-high five seasons earlier.

2010 – 2012: Following training camp stints in Seattle and New York, Ricky returned to the CFL with the Toronto Argonauts in September 2010. He would go onto to appear in 42 regular season games and four playoff games in his first stint as an Argo recording 124 defensive stops along with 10 sacks. The Ontario native was also a big part of a talented Argos team that won the 100th Grey Cup in 2012.

2006 – 2009: The veteran defensive end has appeared in 182 regular season games through 11 seasons enjoying a trio Grey Cup championship wins with three different clubs. Originally drafted by the Lions in 2006, Ricky embarked on a remarkable four-year run with the club appearing in 70 regular season games and six playoff tilts as well as a championship season with the Leos as a rookie.  His final season with the Lions came in 2009 when his 51 defensive tackles and 12 sacks earned him a CFL Outstanding Canadian Player award.

Kudos:
CFL Most Outstanding Canadian: 2009
West Division Most Outstanding Canadian: 2009
Grey Cup Most Outstanding Canadian: 2012

Personal:
Ricky had an interesting path to the CFL as his first taste of organized football came when he walked on with the York Lions in 2002. The powerful defensive end majored in History during his time at York. His most memorable moment on the football field was winning the 100th Grey Cup with the Argos in 2012 in his hometown of Toronto. Ricky is huge fan of the TV show Suits and says 25th Hour is his favourite movie. A lover of old school hip-hop, Ricky also has a passion for jazz music. Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday and Miles Davis are amongst his favourite musicians. When he isn’t on football field, you’ll likely find Ricky in the garage restoring an old car. He credits his sister, Lisa, as his biggest fan.
