Rysen was signed as a free agent by the Lions on February 11, 2025.

Highlights:

2023-24: Rysen moved back north and appeared in 16 games over two seasons with the Stampeders while hauling in four receptions for 19 yards.

2022: Following his release from the Giants, Rysen had a training camp stint with the Chicago Bears.

2020-21: Rysen was selected in round three (21st overall) by Calgary in the 2020 CFL Draft and soonafter signed with the New York Giants as a non-drafted free agent. After spending his first season on the practice squad, the tight end made six catches for 72 yards in 2021 pre-season action.

College:

2016-19: Rysen was a standout at Simon Fraser University and recorded 132 receptions for 1,928 yards and 20 touchdowns. He was named SFU’s offensive MVP in his senior year after leading the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) in receptions (53), receiving yards (861) and touchdowns (10)

Personal:

Rysen was born in Surrey and raised in East Vancouver while he was a star with Vancouver College in BC High School Football. Rysen was named after former NFL wide receiver Andre “Bad Mon” Rison.
