JOB SUMMARY:

The Assistant Manager plays a critical role in the store and/or venue by assuming secondary responsibility for customer service standards, sales goals, operational standards, associate development, and the overall profitability of the team. This position will uphold the principles of the Fanatics culture, demonstrating the organization’s core competencies. Ideal candidates will set direction and establish accountability with a highly engaged team, ensuring an optimal level of productivity and desired outcomes.

The Assistant Manager will report to the General Manager and work a rotating, full-time schedule including days, nights, and rotating weekends.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Assist in optimizing sales opportunities through strategic planning in conjunction with the general manager
  •  Execute Company initiatives through clearly communicated objectives and team priorities
  •  Support the financial operations of the store through successful management of controllable costs including but not limited to payroll and shrink
  •  Drive a culture of high performance and engagement that results in an exceptional fan experience
  •  Uphold the Company, Team/League values and standards
  •  Ensure merchandising and operational store standards are consistently met
  •  Actively manage your own time and that of the team to ensure goals are met by their deadline
  •  Create a rewarding and collaborative work environment in which employees are encouraged to grow to support our succession and talent goals
  •  Recruit a qualified team of selling-focused associates; build a bench for future advancements and promotions
  • Ensure all associate training is conducted on a timely basis, ensure assigned mentors engage with new hires
  •  Provide feedback to associates in all areas of the business
  •  Responsible for holding others accountable for meeting merchandising standards and productivity expectations
  • Coach associates on product knowledge by holding in-store product training in conjunction with cross-functional partners and the general manager
  • Lead in-store recognition program, reward associates with recognition cards

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  •  Proven ability to proactively drive sales by creating selling opportunities through retail knowledge and on the job observations
  •  Strong verbal and written communication skills
  •  Experience leading teams
  •  Proven ability to work well with all levels of management and build partnerships
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills including P&L basics
  •  Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work strategically, tactically and operationally
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment while remaining cool under pressure
  •  Ability to foster engagement and inspire others while maintaining a fun, professional attitude

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to sit stand, reach, bend and move about the facility as needed
  •  Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
  • Game Day scheduling may have exposure to various weather elements (rainy, windy, cold, high temperatures, etc.) if the assigned location is outside of the shop
